Fnatic is a professional eSports organization consisting of players from around the world. The organization has housed some of the top players in games like League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Battlefield 4, Hearthstone and more. The Fnatic organization was founded by both Sam Mathews and Anne Mathews. Fnatic's Headquarters is located in London, United Kingdom. In both 2006 and 2009 Fnatic were awarded Team of the Year. After an unimpressive 2016 Spring Split, FNATIC disbanded the team and left the scene.

History

Season 1

Fnatic's first step into SMITE was on November 8, 2014, when they acquired the roster of Exposed Secrets who placed 1st during the Season 1 SMITE Pro League.[1] The roster consisted of Funballer, Xaliea, HalfDevil, ShadowNightmare, FrostiaK, Lloydy and coach ImDazer.

The team went on to the Season 1 EU Regional Championship, where they lost to Aquila 3-2 in a best of 5 series in the semifinals and failed to qualify for the SMITE World Championship. On December 6th of 2014, both ShadowNightmare and FrostiaK choose to leave the team.[2] Just a few weeks later, on December 23rd, the rest of the team chose to part ways with Fnatic and disband.[3]

Season 2

With Fnatic being without a SMITE team going into Season 2, the organization decided to sign the roster formally of SK Gaming on March 6th, 2015. The roster consisted of Realzx, CaptainTwig, Badgah, maniaKK and Zyrhoes.[4]

Spring Split

Summer Split

At the Summer Finals, Fnatic struggled in a best-of-5 against Team SoloMid. Despite novel picks such as  Thanatos mid for Zyrhoes, the European 2nd seed only managed to take a single game off the North American 3rd seed, losing the series 1-3 and dropping down to the 5th place match, where they squared off against the former world championship roster of Cloud9. An unusual draft including  Ah Muzen Cab,  Zeus, and  Arachne helped Fnatic lock down objectives and the teamfights thereafter, granting them the 1-0 victory and securing 5th place.

Fall Split

After the conclusion of Season 2, Krett retired from Smite, becoming the Paladins QA manager for Hi-Rez. While later Badgah left the team citing an internal conflict.[5]. Only one day later the roster of the team Hungry For More was announced, listing CaptainTwig as their jungler, leaving Fnatic with only three members.[6] Two months later, SMITE's eSports site leaked the new members of Fnatic, officially revealed a day later to be BigManTingz in support and Jifffy in jungle, as well as new coach in AnatoLiy.

Season 3

Spring Split

Fnatic was predicted to be the third or fourth place team by many, however, this was not to be. Fnatic had shown to be incredibly inconsistent, with only Realzx performing up to par. By week 5, they were eighth place in the league. Even with BigManTingz showing up and holding the team together at the end against Dignitas, the team couldn't escape relegations.

Fnatic leaves SMITE

After a extremely poor showing from their team throughout the Spring Split, Fnatic decided to disband the team and leave the Smite Pro League entirely [2] on July 18, 2016. The renaming team dispersed, though Jiffy (Now WorldEdit) and Nulisa remained together and played in Relegations under the name Fantastique. With the addition of Challenger Cup players MoGoW, Jermain, and Dardez the team re-qualified for the SPL.
